The Virginia Journal
The Virginia Journal is published twice yearly (Fall and Spring) by the Virginia Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Deadlines for submitting materials for inclusion in the spring and winter issues are January 15 and July 15th respectively. Manuscripts should be sent to Dr. Michael Moore, TVJ editor, by email in an attached WORD document. In submitting a manuscript, the author affirms that it has not been published or accepted for publication elsewhere, unless otherwise stated in writing. Coming SOON - 2026 Dance in Broad Perspectives Conferee - If you have not registered for the conference, use the link National Dance Society - NDS Annual Conference. The first sessions/events start Sunday afternoon & evening, May 17 (3:00 pm-8:15 pm). There are full conference days May 18-20, with the Awards Ceremony & Reception and the professional concert closing out the conference at 8:30 pm on May 20. You do not want to miss anything in between: keynote sessions by prominent artists/speakers, master classes, thoughtful panel discussions, group dance opportunities, research poster sessions, dance film screenings.

The Office of STEM is hosting monthly driver education webinars for teachers and supervisors on the second Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m. These webinars provide a space to stay informed about best practices, emerging trends, and policy updates, while fostering professional growth and peer support. The sessions aim to help teachers equip young drivers with the skills and knowledge to develop safe, collision-free habits for life. All driver education teachers and supervisors are welcome to join.
